* Point of view: A Children's Photography Project

The children's photography project at Punho Forte is inspired by our observation that a child's point of view is universal in it's vibrancy and optimism. Where adults see poverty, suffering and need; children see colour, fun and opportunity. Help us to preserve this optimism and engergy for them to carry into their adult life and bring to their communities.
The photographs available for sale on this site were taken by the children from two community projects from favela neighbourhoods in the city of Itacare, Bahia, Northern Brazil.
Punho Forte provides educational, recreational and mentoring programs for disadvantaged youth. It is supported in it's work by Punho Forte Ireland, a registered charity in the republic of Ireland which also manages this website.
Projetto Libelula or Dragonfly project provides sexual health education and services as well as educational, cultural and income generating activities for tennage girls.
All proceeds from the sale of these photos is spent on program development of these projects which are fully managed by volunteer staff.
Photos are 8x10cm (A4) in colour or black and white, framed in black wood with white mount... Excellent Christmas presents. 85 euro, available shortly from this website and at the fundraiser on Thursday in the Powerscourt Shopping Centre and the following night at the South William bar.
